THE TRIP STARTS: Turks and Caicos

I wanted to start the new year with a special kitetrip. I wanted to experience a new spot, one that not a lot of people have been kiting on, but the wind and water conditions have to be excellent and I also wanted a life surrounding the kiting… high expectations for something that should exist, but has not been discovered yet. I have been looking for something like that for quite some time, and after lots of research Jac and me decided to go to a tiny group of islands called Turks & Caicos just about 250km north of the Dom. According to the infos of the locals and online reports the conditions here should be very similar to the ones in Cabarete and its side-spots and especially in winter frontal systems in the US should provide plenty of wind and swell for us to ride. Terri and Mike from Kiteprovo, the only kitestations on the island, provided us with an awesome place to stay. They are also so nice to pick us up at the airport and show us our way around. Pretty sweet! To get here was not that difficult, especially as they upgraded me and Jac on the 10h long distance flight from Frankfurt to Miama into business class as I am a Frequent Traveller… I guess I have to say thanx to Lufthansa for that one ;-)

However so far we havent been blessed with winds, however for tomorrow it looks quite ok according to the forecast. We drove around the 30km long island in our car and have researched ever possible kite spot. So we are set to ride! I have to say that the beaches and the water are one of the most breathtaking I have ever encountered! So this will become an unforgetable experience!!!!

I will give you regular updates, infos and pics as I have received lots of emails and requests in the past about this trip, so I want to provide a lot of feedback for everyone of you!
