PKRA Canada - Day 3-7 - Double and Halifax

The Doubles went really bad for all three of us. While Mike lost close against Alex Pastor destroying also his kite on the rocks, Mario lost against Reno breaking his board, I could barely stay upwind on my 15 and lost against 65kg Andy Yates. I had a shit heat, not being able to show any good tricks and so I lost clearly. Still, I enjoyed this visit to Canada to its fullest. It was one of the best vacations of my life, and big part of that was a girl named Jacqueline, who also got some nice shots of me kiting and filmed a small clip on her cam. I uploaded the vid onto my page, so you can see it in the full version of this article! Even though it is really short and in bad quality, it is really funny, listening to commentator Chris Tronolone :-)

Jac is a sweet girl, and she offered me to show me Halifax and give me a tour around the city. We enjoyed the days to its fullest, partying at night, and arranging cool trips during the day. Since she is a pilot, she offered me a plane ride. It was one of the best experiences I had in my life: I was allowed to steer the Cessna, even though a little shaky at the beginning but then getting pretty confident on it, enjoying the sick landscape under us. Afterwards we went for a city tour and we drove out to Peggys Cove with its legendary lighthouse… super romantic! And on another day we went to see a hypnosis show, where I tried to get hypnotized, however my brain must be to strong… ahhahahahahahaha!

The country is one of the best I have ever visited. Super humble, not arrogant, very nice people, calm, pieceful and thoughtful. The people here are the kindest people I ever met, and to a total contrast to the people that I for example met in Spain. I was reminded of my sick time in Nashville a few years ago all the time, and so I enjoyed every second with Jac. I will come back here for sure, and not only for the great bays, coves, lakes and kiteconditions! I will be 13th overall this year in the PKRA, with a big distance to the 14th place. Even though I missed my goal slightly to become TOP10, however I did not calculate in the extremely higher level of kiting than last year, and I still improved by 2 placed compared to 2007. I will not do the last 2 tourstops of the PKRA in Brazil and Chile (there will be Austrian championships during Brazil and Triggernaut Teamridermeeting during Chile) Rather I prepare myself well for the Austrian Championships next week in Podersdorf.

So I will go to spend some days in Italy and then leave to Lake Neusiedel afterwards. My heartliest Thanx goes to Jacqueline, who was more than just a great tourguide and pilot. Thank you for those wonderful days… it will be continued :-) well… enough talking… I am in Frankfurt right now, chilling in the Lounge… I will give you a Hollaa when I am back in Innsbruck!

You should definitely check the Gallery with the most unbelievable pictures from Halifax, Prince Edwards Island, me flying the plane and all the parties!!!!

Cheers
